  • Product Description

Sport Magazine was always considered a poor cousin to the more popular Sports Illustrated. Unlike SI, Sport focused almost entirely on Baseball and Football, featuring strong articles which were more written from a fan's perspective rather than the SI mod Condition or content summary of this example: small tear on cover, wear on binding; contents fine

This item was one of 220 items sold by Lelands Auction House as part of a dedicated auction of the Red Schoendienst collection (image of catalog provided).Throughout the collection, many of the magazines had mailing labels to Mr Schoendienst but a majority were to a Mr O'Reilly of Missouri, undoubtedly an aide to the Hall of Famer. Given the vastness of the collection and the shear number of issues that were personally addressed to Mr Schoendienst - including many autographed examples - we believe these items to be accurately reflected as belonging to Mr. Schoendienst and we will provide our letter of provenance to that effect.
