• Product Description

The Grand Daddy of all card sets, the 52 Topps BB issue is the benchmark by which all other cards are compared. This 407 card classic has it all - beautiful photography, tough Single Prints, scarce High Numbers and the key card in the hobby, Mickey's first Topps card. According to Topps, the 1952 high numbers were poor sellers since they were issued very late in the season - hundreds of cases were dumped in NY harbor a few years later. The first appearance of many key HOFers in the high number series, such as Campanella, Jackie Robinson and Eddie Mathews, make these cards among the most sought after of the decade. Several commons present major condition rarities, selling for 10-15x their book values. The #1 card of Andy Pafko is the most significant condition rarity of the decade and high grade examples have sold in excess of $50,000.

This vintage card featuring Grady Hatton of the Reds is #6 from the 1952 Topps Baseball set. Hatton jumped straight to the Reds from military service in 1946, hitting .271 with 14 HR and 69 RBI. He followed in 1947 with 16 HR, 77 RBI, 91 runs, and a .281 average, but tailed off thereafter. He managed the Oklahoma City 89ers to two pennants in three years and then managed the Astros from 1966 to 1968.

The card is the red back variation.

The card has an overall grade of EX
