Stu Miller

Stu Miller is best remembered for two highlights from the 1960s. On May 14th, 1967 (my birthday!), he surrendered Mickey Mantle's 500th career home run at Yankee Stadium. And, in the 1961 All-Star game, he was blown off the mound at Candlestick Park, triggering the most famous balk in baseball history. The balk allowed the AL to tie the game, but Miller ended up the winning pitcher as the NL won the contest in the 10th.

Miller pitched for 16 seasons, primarily for the Giants - but also made stops in St. Louis, Philadelphia, Baltimore and Atlanta.

Miller sadly passed away this weekend at the age of 87
